The Founder
Meet Steve Wisbey
Awarded the Order of Australia Medal in the 2015 Queen’s Birthday Honours for Community Service, Steve Wisbey has never been one to rest on his laurels. Steve has been actively involved in donating his time to fundraising and charitable events for over thirty years and has been instrumental in raising millions of dollars for an array of causes.
Golf Days, Sports Lunches, Gala Balls, Race Nights, Car Raffles, you name it…if Steve could MC an event, sell a ticket, auction something off or ask for a financial pledge you’d find him enthusiastically spruiking for an Individual, Family, Charity, or Cause. Literally thousands of wonderful events helping change lives through acts of kindness and love from a huge supportive network in the Macarthur region of NSW.
No stranger to charity
Steve has been proud to involved with The Right Start Foundation, supporting families touched by Down Syndrome, OCAGI The Mark Grundy Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Group Inc, Disability Macarthur, St Vincent de Paul Society, Cystic Fibrosis Research, Society 389 Children’s Charity Club, Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, Kids of Macarthur, Father Chris Riley’s Youth Off The Streets, Ikhaya le Themba Home of Hope Cape Town South Africa, Scouts Australia, Guide Dogs NSW, Lifeline, Camp Quality. In the memory of his Great Grandfather Frederick Cave Wisbey, Steve co-founded the 7th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF Historical Troop Menangle to provide a living history to commemorate the Men and Horses of WW1 and the Iconic Light Horse Beersheba battle of 1917. It’s hard to believe that’s just a snapshot!

The back story
When tragedy strikes
In September 2020 a devastating fire started in a business below Steve’s Award-Winning restaurant “Upstairs@Fred’s” in Camden NSW. That fire damaged several premises but Fred’s, in the beautiful 1880’s heritage building, was destroyed. Five years of crazy hard work for Steve and his wife Mandy gone in an instant and a lifetime of collectibles, art and autographed memorabilia burnt to a crisp or covered in asbestos ash.
The usually vibrant, outgoing Steve took it pretty bad and spent many months suffering from depression and anxiety related mental health. With the love and support of Mandy and his friends and being able to work through the issues of loss with professional help Steve is now ready to rock with renewed passion and enthusiasm.
